Mr. Sesi Whingan,a Lagos based young Philanthropist, has opened up on secret behind his achievement during the fight against the world pandemic COVID 19.
I made decision to join other world leaders across the globe in fight against Covid-19 because of my passion for service to humanity he said.
This was revealed while speaking in a telephone chat with the Publisher of News Proof, Dansu Peter.
considering the misinformation concerning the pandemic and untold hardship untoward, which ensued as the result of it’s outbreak, The young philanthropist said, he could not fold his arms and watch his people, especially the residents of Badagry wallop in hardship and unwarranted fear due to misinformations.
“At first, I was not myself and unhappy especially when the Federal Government imposed a total lockdown in Lagos and Ogun states, knowing fully well that the residents of my local government of origin, Badagry will in no small way be affected economically, because majority of them depend on daily and menial jobs for survival.”
“Though, I am not as rich as the Dangotes, Otedolas, the Bill Gates of this world who have contributed their wealth in fight against the pandemic, l thought despite not being rich as them, I could not fold my arms and watch my people suffer. So, I called my foundation members, and after hours of deliberation in a conference call, we decided to intervene in two basic ways. First, we decided to combat the misinformation about Covid-19 through public enlightenment at major towns and villages in Badagry. During the enlightenment, a very high quality customized Facemasks were distributed to the people. Secondly, we also decided to cushion the effects of the pandemic through massive distribution of food items throughout the three councils in Badagry Federation. Today, many residents are still relishing our humanitarian gestures and I am highly delighted I did,” he said.
Another person who also spoke speaking with a News Proof editor on the efforts made by Sesi Whingan Foundation in the combat against the coronavirus is Prince Awhanbe Jesuyon Sunday, a prominent leader of the foundation. Mr. Sunday was full of appreciation of the founder of the foundation, Mr. Sesi Whingan over what he described as his uncommon hunger for service to humanity. He said he was amazed that an individual who is neither a politician nor a public office holder could decide to ameliorate the suffering of his people with such huge commitments.
He said, “What Sesi did and still doing during this critical period of coronavirus is amazing. In this part of the world, I have not seen an individual who is not holding any public office do this much to the populace. I was directly involved in the distribution of foods and other items especially during the lockdown. Food items worth millions of naira were distributed across the length and breadth of Badagry. Also, Mr. Seyive and I recently championioned the distribution of Facemasks and sensitization of the people on the deadly pandemic with the help of my colleagues in the foundation Huge amount money was committed to these. I thank him and pray the Almighty God continue to bless him. He is no doubt, a rare breed of a selfless and magnanimous individual springing up from Badagry ”
