During his time on earth, there were rumors that reggae music icon, Majekodunmi Fasheke a.k.a Majek Fashek, derailed from his thriving music career because of the influence of his high consumption of alcohol and cannabis. Similarly, there were speculations that the celebrated artist started exhibiting strange behavior because he read the book of Moses.
Although now deceased, a new biography by Nigerian author, Azuka Jebose, has now confirmed the speculations that made the rounds years ago. Before his death, Majek revealed to the writer that he truly read the book of Moses and going against the rules therein had a major impact on his life.
Majek said he never derailed because of his consumption of cannabis and alcohol but simply because he could not uphold the rules in the book.
The singer, however, disclosed that it was God that saved his life.
“Jebose, its true I read the book of Moses and it affected me because I couldn’t keep the rules of the book. But God saved my life; nor be igbo or ogogoro dey worry me … na the book…I disobeyed the laws of Moses… I am not Moses….God saved my life…I am going through recovery and soon the circles would complete.
“That’s all I can tell you right now: You know say nor be today you know me Jebose, so I nor fit lie to you or hide anything from you. Jah Lives,” an
