The Bauchi State government has disclosed how much it spent on feeding each COVID-19 patient admitted into isolation centres in the state.
Rilwanu Mohammed, Executive Chairman of the state Primary Healthcare Development Agency (PHCDA), disclosed that N4,500 was spent daily to feed patients admitted to the state’s isolation centres.
Speaking with NAN, Mohammed revealed that the state Governor, Bala Mohammad, had approved the amount to ensure that COVID-19 patients in the state were well fed.
Mohammed, who is also the chairman, contact tracing committee on COVID-19 in Bauchi, said, “It was the state government that ordered us to put N1,500 per single meal in a day.
“That is, N1,500 meal during breakfast, the same amount for lunch as well as dinner because he doesn’t want anybody in isolation to suffer or complain so that we won’t have any riot like in some other states.
