2019: “We Will Disgrace You At Primary” — APC Card Carrying Members Slam Lagos Lawmaker

The people of Ikeja state constituency ll have told the lawmaker representing them at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Adedamola Richard Kasunmu, popularly known as ARK, to meet them at the poll next year to test his popularity, if he scales through the upcoming party primary and is eventually imposed on them by the All Progressives Congress leadership in Lagos.

Smarting from what they called his imposition on them in 2015 and his non-performance in office, the people of the constituency, who claimed that they were the most shortchanged in Lagos, accused their representative of non performance, non empowerment of his constituents and nonchalant attitude toward issues that are paramount to the interest of the people.

They also accused the lawmaker of alleged drunkenness at all times and alleged addiction to hard drugs, which they said could be responsible for his non performance as the lawmaker representing them in Lagos House of Assembly.

They also accused him of sitting on the N10 million allegedly doled out to each lawmaker in the state Assembly to organise stakeholders’ and town hall meeting across their constituencies.

Meanwhile, the lawmaker has been said to have told people close to him that his second term is sure, relying on his filial relationship with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former governor of Lagos State and the National Leader of the APC. Hon. Kasumu is said to be a nephew to the Jagaban of Borgu, Tinubu and grandson to the late Iyaloja General of Nigeria, Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji.

He was quoted to have said he does not need to waste his time and money campaigning, adding that “let those who have money and time continue to waste it. When the time comes, Asiwaju will only speak and I will get the ticket.”

There are however indication that Hon Kasunmu may soon realise his folly as Asiwaju Tinubu has warned aspirants in Lagos to stop dropping his name and prepare to face party members in the upcoming primary election of the party in the Centre of Excellence.
