‘You Don’t Know What You Are Saying’ — Lagos Lawmaker, Hon. Olulade Slams PDP Chairman, Uche Secondus Over UNDEMOCRATIC Statement

Secondus’ Comment, Undemocratic, Unpatriotic, Says Olulade

The member representing Epe Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Olusegun Olulade, has criticized the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Uche Secondus for saying that a military government is better than the current administration.

Secondus, on Wednesday at a dinner to welcome those who left the All Progressives Congress (APC), was said to have alleged that it was better for us to have full blown military government.

Olulade, in his reaction to the PDP Chairman’s comment, maintained that Secondus was undemocratic and unpatriotic and therefore should be charged for treason for making such a “reckless” statement.

According to the lawmaker, “such a comment coming from Secondus shows that he and members of his party don’t have the love of this country at heart. We can now see why the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai alleged some months back that some individuals had been approaching soldiers for undisclosed political reasons.

“Secondus should be told that those who left the APC for his party no longer have electoral value and relevance and they cannot even go back to the electorates that elected them without gettingstoned.

“Also, they were expecting to get automatic tickets to return in 2019 but as our party Chairman, Adams Oshiomole, has said that there will be no automatic ticket for any aspirant, they decided to run back to the PDP where they believe they will be given automatic tickets.

Many of them won in 2015 because of President Buhari’s influence and now that they have seen that they cannot enjoy same in 2019, they decided to go back to their vomits,” Olulade said.

Secondus was quoted as saying “I thought that one of the critical elements of democracy is lobbying and persuasion is the greatest weapon of a democrat or a politician. We have seen in the past few years that the APC-led government has foisted on this nation a kind of military democracy that cannot be described. It is better for us to have full blown military.”

Olulade, however, cautioned Secondus to watch his utterances, noting that his recent statement was capable of undermining the country’s nascent democracy.
