There has been an attack with about two suspects who have now been shot dead after they opened fire killing 14 people and injuring 17 at the Inland Regional Center facility at the office holiday party.
It is gathered that the man called Syed Farooq, 28, was married to the woman, Tashfeen Malik, 27, and even had a six-month-old baby girl together. Both shooters fled the scene in a black SUV prompting a massive man-haunt. This led the police to an address in the neighboring town of Redlands, and police chased a vehicle that was seen leaving that address to travel back to San Bernardino. There is also talk of a dispute with the man leaving angrily only to return fully armed.
According to San Bernardino Police Chief Jarrod Burguan, the chase ended with officers engaging in a gun battle with a man and a woman, both of whom were armed with assault rifles and hand guns. The man and the woman were killed in the shootout with the police.
However, a police officer was injured in the gun fight but the injuries were not life
threatening, the police chief said. A third person was also spotted running from the vehicle and was detained.
Burguan said, adding in reference to the third person that “we do not know that
they were involved” in the attack at the Inland Regional Center facility in San Bernardino.
Burguan said the two suspect were dressed in dark, “assault-style” clothing and that there was “sensitive stuff” around the vehicle, which police were searching to ensure there were no explosives inside. There were also reports that an explosive device had been found at the San Bernardino facility during a police sweep after the attack.
Three explosive device were found at the shooting site and it’s believed they were rigged to a remote car.
President Barack Obama was briefed on the attack by his homeland security adviser. He said it was too early to know the shooters’ motives but urged the country to take steps to reduce mass shootings, including stricter gun laws and stronger background checks.

“The one thing we do know is that we have a pattern now of mass shootings in this country that has no parallel anywhere else in the world, and there’s some steps we could take, not to eliminate every one of these mass shootings, but to improve the odds that they don’t happen as frequently,” Obama told CBS.
