The election of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State was on Tuesday upheld by the State governorship election petitions tribunal sitting in Umuahia, the State capital.
The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, Alex Otti, had challenged the victory of Governor Ikpeazu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the election.
While throwing out Otti’s petition, the chairman of the three-man panel, Justice Usman Bwala, who read the judgement for about two hours, said the APGA candidate failed to prove allegations of criminality and over voting in three local government areas beyond reasonable doubt.
