The March 28 general election has suffered a major blow as a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to include the Young Democratic Party (YDP) in lists of its duly registered political parties.
By implication, the INEC would have to reprint new ballot papers for the elections which is three weeks away.
Justice Ahmed Muhammed passed the judgment in Abuja on Wednesday.
The YDP said it has candidates in all positions and ought to be included in the ballot papers which have already been printed.
The party said it fulfilled conditions for registration as contained in Section 78 (4) of the Electoral Act.
With this development, will INEC reprint the ballot papers before the March 28th election?
