1. The match begins
Action has started in the international friendly match betweens the Super Eagles of Nigeria and Argentina in Russia.
The match can be viewed on NTA local station.
Tuesday’s friendly ahead of 2018 World Cup between Nigeria and Argentina will kick off by 5pm Nigerian time.“The game will start at 7pm local time in Argentina, which is 5:30pm in Nigeria,” Eagles spokesman Toyin Ibitoye informed.It has been confirmed that skipper John Mikel Obi who was left out of the final World cup qualifier in Algeria on Friday, will return to the starting XI against Argentina on Tuesday.
Super Eagles Coach, Gernot Rohr has decided to go with a formation of three central defenders in his line up for the international friendly.
The players who will be starting the game for Nigeria are going to play in a 5-3-2 formation which translates to 3-5-2 when they attack.

In the starting line up, goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi is back in goal, Chidozie Awaziem will line up alongside William Troost-Ekong and Leon Balogun as part of a three man central defence.

Tuesday’s clash in Russia will represent the eighth time Nigeria have had to do battle with the South Americans. In the past encounters, the Super Eagles have lost five times, winning once and sharing the spoils on an occasion.

Gernot Rohr’s side will be hoping for a second victory over the Albiceleste who will have to make do without Barcelona ace Lionel Messi.
