Boko Haram insurgents have allegedly recaptured Gudumbali, a community in Guzamala LGA of Borno State.
The insurgents first took over the border town about four years ago forcing some residents to flee to neighbouring towns for refuge.
Only recently, did over 378 families, comprising of nearly 2,000 persons, begin their journeys back from the Bakassi IDP camp in Maiduguri.
However, the insurgents were said to have recaptured the town since Friday.
Some of the returnees escaped to nearby villages around Monguno and Gubio local government.
One of those who escaped told Channels Television that the insurgents had asked them to vacate the village, saying they had a different mission.
The Army is yet to confirm the situation as calls put through to the spokesperson of the Operation Lafiya Dole were not answered.
